FLORIDA'S BEST KEPT SECRET..... | ||

There is nothing like seeing the look on a child's face the first time they see a wild animal like a dolphin knowing they will carry that experience with them the rest of their lives. And in Florida, it is not such a hard thing to see a dolphin in the wild! My little 15 month old niece just saw her first dolphin in May of this year and I know for a fact that her experience went far deeper than her being able to learn to say the word dolphin. Below is a little snippet of video I shot that day of that Altlantic Bottle-nosed dolphin grabbing a quick meal of mullet right up against a seawall and in between two docked boats.
I see dolphins all the time in the bayous surrounding Tarpon Springs. When you do see a dolphin along the West Coast whether it be off the shore while you are on the beach or on a nature tour, you are quite likely seing an Atlantic Bottle-Nosed Dolphin. They tend to be a bit smaller along the West Coast and its inland waterways and usually don't get much larger than about 8 feet long. Out in the ocean, they tens to get bigger and can top out at 12 feet. |
