I can't say enough good things about the Florida State Park system! Even the tinest Park is usually well maintained and clean despite the sometimes heavy seasonal use by residents and tourists. Many offer nature tours and talks led by the Rangers, Nature Center Directors or volunteers. And, there is often affordable access to camping, canoeing, and bicycling. I will soon have lots of information on my favorite Parks within reasonable driving distance from each of the towns listed below and add more towns as this website grows.

Florida Parks: North of Tampa

Tarpon Springs: 30 miles North of Tampa Airport. A 45 minute drive from Tampa.

Dunedin: About 8 miles South of Tarpon Springs

Clearwater: Just a a few miles South of Dunedin and West of Tampa

Florida Parks: South of Tampa

St. Petersburg: South and West of Tampa
